Given that an email feed from Sibley can be easily obtained if users want it, and that IMSLP also echoes the Sibley uploads, I think Rob's view should hold. We certainly prefer composer, location and style-based threads generally, but threads such as Alfred's are a continuation of similar threads in the old PP and reflect his unique contribution to the board.

I believe that now Sibley is so well-known that almost everybody has a preferred link on the browser or even a daily mail message from them, so that a further link here is unuseful, even more because their updates are every day larger and larger. Personally I find rather annoying the double check between Sibley and IMSLP new feeds, even because I always find that :
- many Sibley new entries refer to scores already uploaded by them in the past
- many IMSLP-SIbley refer to scores uploaded by sibley in the remote past

During the last two month I spent so many hours in downloading, checking, renaming that I had no more time for doing other things or personal scans (happy problems of course)

Don't forget Rob's valid point that "We only add value by being selective and promoting particular uploads in a categorised way.". My own posts re Sibley are a personal view of what PP members may be interested in, but as people will no doubt know, that's not all they put out.

I, like Caprotti, wish for a more logical naming system if only so Caprotti can turn his attention to his scanner. Poor thing must be feeling horribly neglected

The second movement describes perfectly how I currently feel.

A friend was once the guest leader of the Naples (Florida) Philharmonic (or whatever the orchestra was called) for a performance of this, and the conductor was enormously tall and thin and had the longest arms imaginable! His nickname was the stick-insect. The arms waved about all over the place, and actually he looked rather like a preying mantiss on the platform. Most of his movements were entirely unnecessary and ineffectual in any case in what is a very straightforward work. The audience thought he was a great conductor of course. Nice playing, but very mediocre performance. But the beach at Naples is nice!
