Hi all:
Currently, I am listening , and doing some reading of the song " Ich bin der welt abhanden gekommen " . I wonder if the song is based on other folk model ( lperhaps scottish ? ) , as the beginning of the song starts with the English horn melody; throughout the entire piece , there's a remarkable use of the pentatonic element ... but again, I am not sure if my assumption is correct or not . Therefore, I would like to ask , and see if anyone can prefer me for other reading ( online articles, books etc. ) , for regarding the origin of this composition .
