?

I'm also looking for suggestions for a single (maybe up to 7') piece by Bowen that may not yet have been recorded but which is rather stunning.

Also, any other early 20thC British pieces of similar dimensions that could do with a dusting down? I'm developing a programme/recording project.

P.S. As I recently bought a grand piano, I am curious what you are using for study purposes and if there was any need
for acoustical adjustments of the room resp. thorough voicing of the instrument.
P.P.S. There are numerous interesting but neglected shorter pieces by Bax, Ireland and Bridge, but all have been recorded more than once.

Many thanks for your offer. I noticed that the piece could be purchased, but not very easily by me given my geographical position. (Sometimes the postage costs more than the actual score!) I will probably order a copy to collect in September when I next visit the UK, but until then a preview would be very welcome.

I have a fairly recent (90s?) Foerster upright in our bedroom! It requires a bit more effort on the action than most uprights and has quite a full sound.

Foerster (Förster) is a very fine brand! During GDR times the quality deteriorated, but since the 1990s they are top quality again (I visited the factory in Saxonia in the 1990s). Effort on the action is pretty good, imho, because otherwise you may have problems to play properly on a concert grand.

Holbrooke's Fantasie Sonata No.1 Op.124 and Fantasie Sonata No.2 Op.128
are recent uploads to IMSLP. The trouble is, copyright issues appear to make
them unlawful to download in Europe for ten years.

What a dilemma for we Holbrooke fans in the UK, especially those of us who
have also contributed to that composer's piano repertoire. In theory, I would
break the law by downloading my own scans!
