Chromaticon - this peaked my interest too, as an ardent fan of Lovecraft. Apparently, the whole score was included in Lovecraft's 'Marginalia' but have not been able to ascertain if it got published elsewhere. And copies of 'Marginalia' start from £150 to over £1,000 for a copy (not sure if it was ever re-printed) ? Might be able to borrow via a local library unless a member has a copy of this book ?

Thank you indeed, Malcolm. I am delighted to have another substantive piece by this composer. I've been playing his "Whirligig" for over 30 years.

The piece is dedicated to his wife, Constance Keene, a fairly "bony" woman who was much admired for her virtuosic rendering of Rachmaninoff's piano works. I do own her recording of the complete Preludes, but imho it is inferior to the excellent (mono) recording by Moura Lympany. Keene also recorded some of her husband's works, among them - if I am not mistaken - his famous "Three Chinese Pieces".
