Thank you both for your detective work on my behalf. Much appreciated.

I find it slightly depressing that there are still quite a number of
famous British composers such as Parry, Stanford, and Bennett (WS)
whose ENTIRE output of published piano music isn't easily available.

Had these same guys been from Germany, I suspect that ALL their
piano works would have been in general circulation a long while ago.

Regards, Tim.

I agree, Tim, that British romantic music still is underrepresented and under-rated.
And there surely is as much bullshit amongst it as in German romantic music (in percent).
Best regards, Ferruccio

I think one must blame the British Library. Whereas the BnF is gradually making scores available on its Gallica platform, and the Library of Congress made some old scores available a few years ago, the British Library - which has a huge collection as copyright depositary - has done nothing at all. The only documents it ever digitises are ones that look good or which would be worth a lot of money were it ever to sell them, and I am afraid you are reliant on individuals like me with random collections of crumbling old scores acquired in second hand book shops. I have put a few scores on IMSLP recently and hope to put a few more on when I get time to scan them!

This subject was discussed so many times in the past. Indeed BL is one of the worst examples of how a public institution can handle books, scores, images just for making money. Exactly the opposite of what IMSLP or other institutions are doing.

Thank you all for the above observations, everything of which I agree with.
(I've now placed an order from an undisclosed source for several Parry piano works
including those variations, and will be making the scores available when the order
arrives, assuming no agreement terms and conditions are broken by doing so.)

Timtim,

Here are the Parry Variations you were looking for.
Sorry there is some blacking on the pages. In the days when I got this (many years ago) I had to use
cellotape to join pages together.
I hope You have as yet, not ordered these.

Many thanks Liveforpiano! This work is surprisingly virtuosic and I love it
to bits. The blacking doesn't matter at all. It adds character to the scan imo.
I'll now amend my order accordingly.

A friend of mine has very kindly done some cleaning of the above file.

(According to Dibble's Parry biography, the unclear delineation of the 19
variations was such that when challenged to identify them, he himself
ended up counting 2 different totals and abandoned the attempt!)

Hello.
Does anyone have the score for Arnold Bax's 'Water Music'?
Sorry if this isn't the proper way to request something. I'm new here.

Wallace, William Vincent (1812-1865): Un fleur de Pologne Mazurka.
Published by Robert Cocks (London), not dated, but 1860 to 70 should fit, 600 dpi. Catalogue of Wallace's piano works is included.

Hello Alkanator,

IMSLP have a work by Bax called Winter Waters.
Is that what you are looking for.
It was all I could find.

Peter.
