Re: French Piano Music
My many thanks to Jim F. for the wonderful Debussy transcriptions which are new to me and to Sir Peter for the very early Chaminade which I didn't know were even published. All are very worthwhile additions to our libraries.

Hm! Chaminade's Op. 01 - Two Mazurkas was posted in the Women Composers thread. Are there two Op.1's? Lots of thanks for all of these early works!

From Gallica: Dance of the Water-Nymphs by Paul-Jean de Chauvenet. Interesting to see the title in English.

Re: French Piano Music
Thanks to liveforpiano for filling the gap in the collection with the early pieces by CC. Interesting about the two opus 1's--I don't see any evidence that the Mazurkas qualify. (Gallica's records for both show a publication date of 1869--quite early as she would have been about 12.) In any event, here are my alternate B&W versions of same that I made a few months ago:Alex wrote:Hm! Chaminade's Op. 01 - Two Mazurkas was posted in the Women Composers thread. Are there two Op.1's?
