Ah, Alfor! Looking at all the wonderful pieces you posted while I was off gallivanting on the continent, I was delighted at the Medner pieces, which are completely unfamiliar to me and especially surprised at the delightful Karganoff Mazurka. Got to get back to catching up on all this now, but thanks for these interesting posts.

Good (mainly) virtuoso etudes, not too hard to play. Unfortunately F. abandoned the interesting ("Godowskian") path he had begun to walk on with some of his earliest works. Like most of his later works, these are in some way simpler regarding harmony and counterpoint.

Alfor, I like the FRIEDMAN Etudes very much. Yes, they are rather conservative harmonically, but they are well constructed and grateful to play.
