Seconded! Seeing his Phantasy Concerto for piano & orch would be ultra-prima! I got the Barbican to borrow a copy from Cambridge for me but wasn't allowed to take it home! :o  :(

73 minutes for scanning of 56 pages (that is what quality scanning is about!!)

Dedicated to Dani_area_51 and Frank (Dr. H.):

Hugo KAUN
16 Praeludien op. 118
Surely K.'s most ambitious piano work. Pianistically excellent. (More K. to follow!!)
Kaun Praeludien op.118.pdf
Dedicated to Walter (Mr. Cosand):

Eugene GOOSENS
Hommage a Debussy op. 28 (more G. to follow!)
Goossens Hommage a Debussy op.28.pdf

I would only write :o because I guess that explains my reaction in a very precise way...
Alfor, thank you for the time you spend of your life, not only scanning the pieces, but also, for sharing them with everyone here in pp, without having no obligation to do so...I can wait for the following Kaun.. Thank you again, and hope more pianophilians give their feedback and kinds comments about you and also the pieces :)

Bad choice of words, I guess  ...Of course, you know what I mean, but I'll make a change in my previous message...You don't have the obligation of using your time scanning, but we really appreciate like we've been doing so far...

Phantastick!! I am drooling at the thought. I spent a happy hour at the Barbican reading it and it struck me as a minor masterpiece.

Dear Alfor,

Thank you so much for the Kaun and Goossens...each work is absolutely superb. The Kaun Preludes far exceeded my expectations and I intend to give them careful study and practice. Thus far I'm impressed by his sense of drama; from the mourning melancholia of Nos. 1 and 4, to the ferocious outburst of anger inherent in No. 7 (as well as several others). This material really grabs your attention and doesn't get go. Very, very exciting!! :D I think your discovery of Hugo Kaun is an important event in piano literature. He is truly a genuine example of a completely forgotten and overlooked genius. And to think the Preludes represent his Opus 118!! The volumes of undiscovered treasures out there wasting away to dust in libraries just boggles one's mind! Kaun is really worth exploring.

Ausgezeichnet!!! (that's one German word I don't need to use the umlaut key for!) :D :D

All Best,

Frank

Alfor, I love the Kaun and Goossens. Kaun's preludes are just outstanding, and who'd have though Goosens would be so harmonically adventurous. These are great finds and I thank you for them. I must echo Frank's comments--these Kaun preludes are a major discovery. Be sure and check IMSLP which has his 2nd piano concerto and piano sonata. A short bio of Kaun can be found here: http://www.romana-hamburg.de/KaunEngl.htm
