Caprotti, thank you for cleaning the PDF file of Volume 1. How do you do this ? Which software do you use ? I'm not very familiar with PDF manipulation.

Does anyone have the Nocturnes and the Impromptus in Cortot edition ?

Anyone who has visited the two neighbouring Chopin museums in Majorca might
be interested to know that a judge has now decided which one is the true one,
based on the ages of the pianos they each contain.

Hi isseau,

Theodore Presser is the US agent for the Chopin Etudes Paderewski edition. Unfortunately it's a bit on the pricey side:

http://www.presser.com/e-Store/Cart/shop.cfm#76

They offer lower priced reprints of other Chopin sets (Mazurkas, Preludes, Nocturnes, etc.) but the Etudes are only available in the original Polish edition.

Hope this helps!

All Best,

Frank

Also re. the Chopin Etudes; awhile back member and friend Dannen was kind enough to post the Henle Urtext edition. This is a beautiful clear scan (I printed one out and use it myself!). Link below...thanks again to Dannen for sharing this...

Admittedly not pure Chopin............but an arrangement of the etude in A minor for left hand by a Gustav Leo. Interesting to see the dedication to Sophie Menter.
