Giwro's Virtual Musings (Recordings)

Post by giwro »

So with the blessing of our Mods, I am starting my own personal thread - this is to showcase the renderings I have done with samples/virtual instruments/etc.
Every attempt has been made to make them as realistic as possible - some of them have taken quite a number of hours to perfect.

I start with 3 pieces by Theodore Dubois from his suite of 6 pieces "Au jardin"

At some point, I'll finish the next 3 :D

Enjoy,

Thanks, Jean-Séb and wcosand!

I enjoy little pieces like this - they are well-crafted and quite fun.

Today's post, some string music by Madeline Dedieu-Peters.

I must confess, I have no information on this composer, but she wrote in a decidedly Impressionist vein, and if there is more, I would like to here it!

Trois Pièces - aux étoiles..
Trois Pièces - aux rêves

I've not managed to slog through the 3rd movement yet (my teachers always DID chide me for not finishing projects!)

Strings by Garritan - Stradavari violin (3x, once transposed down for VLA) and Gofriller 'cello

Enjoy,

Madeleine Dedieu-Peters, born in 1889, was a pupil of Auguste Chapuis at the Paris Conservatoire. Her string quartets appear to have been remarked in her time.

Thanks for the info, Jean-Séb!

Today's post Gretchaninoff's Nocturne for 'cello and piano

At some point, I'll re-do this one with a better piano sound, but the music is certainly lovely!

Enjoy,

Haven't posted for quite some time - life has a way of changing one's priorities!

Not too long ago, I made a video of my Toccata & Fugue in G-minor, complete with score:

I had a lot of fun writing the piece years ago, and I still enjoy it. Actually got a recognized performer to play part of it in concert - Concert organist Faythe Freese played the Toccata in a concert she did for the Boston Chapter of the AGO back in 2017.
