stumble across it, despite not being Czerny's biggest fan - his 4H
arrangement of Mozart's Requiem.

Excellent find my friend !

On to my post
Marlos Nobre - Brazil - contempo w a great sound
Here he performs his own work Toccattta no 1 , third mov of his piano sonata on a Theme of Bartok (c 1977?, Rev 2002)
This has a really effective driving energy and pop but given how new I love it doesn't make my ears bleed

Thank you for pointing at this very nice and delicate recording. Esther Budiardjo has also recorded the 12 Études de Salon, op.5

This prelude and the set of concert pieces published by Kawai/JP was discussed in the far East thread , at the time the only real recordings worth watching were from 2008, seems , rather coincidentally , around that time others took up the work , I'm currently working through it (very preliminary ) but this is girl , wow, it's benchmark good, her Performance now I think is one of the 3 definite ones to reference

Shohei Amimori - prelude , pianist - Yukiko Furumi

Talking of 2008, I recently bought a Peugeot 2008. As with most newer cars, it lacks a CD player.
So I'm forced to use the USB socket, which reads USB sticks and plays mp3 files through the car's
audio system. Unfortunately, the system doesn't seem to tell me what music is being played.

So, it's a great way to listen to unfamiliar music that's been taken from YouTube, without being
100% sure of what's actually being played (having forgotten the order of what is stored on the
stick). Therefore it enables one to listen to stuff without letting prejudices get in the way.

This is how I recently discovered Rossini's amazingly beautiful and highly dramatic Stabat Mater.
The recording was the 2011 performance conducted by Antonio Pappano. Fortunately, this work
is also available arranged for piano solo by Henri Herz, a printed-out copy of which had been
gathering dust in one of my cupboards for several years, having never been played (until now).

With CV-19 having ruined the UK's opera seasons at various locations this year,
including Glyndebourne, they're making some old productions freely available
on YouTube. They kicked off last Sunday with Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
