A recent release on the MPR label is a recording of Part Songs by Sir
Arthur Sullivan. Although most of these have been previously recorded
on vinyl and are available to hear on YouTube, the sound quality isn't great,
so this new recording performed by the Kantos Chamber Choir is surely
a must-have CD for anyone keen to explore Sullivan's more serious
musical output. There are 21 Part Songs included, some sacred, some
secular, but all are sung a capella, although the printed scores I've seen
also include a piano accompaniment.

Chaminade

This is a polite call to pianists to expand and perhaps complete the recorded works of Cecile Chaminade. Happily and surprisingly most of her works have been recorded to this point. Here is a 'short list' of the piano works left, remaining to be premiered. I did not include works that have been made into MIDI, though they have not been professionally recorded (for example, her first three etudes). I hope that there is some interest in completing this project! If any scores are required, please respond to this post, as most of the scores have been collected.

YouTube posts would suffice...apologies if this post is placed on the incorrect thread.

Anyone who is completely mad about the music of Robert Schumann (like myself!) will no doubt be delighted to indulge themselves in the numerous world premiere recordings of all his orchestral music and some of his best chamber music, arranged for piano duet by Schumann himself and others. There are 7 volumes from Naxos altogether, and all feature the excellent Eckerle Piano Duo. The first 6 volumes are already available - I can't wait to get hold of the last one, to complete the collection!
