Music for Solo Violin

Post by lutoslawski »

Dear Pianophiles,
Since i have been interested in learning myself very much from music for the solo violin, today a friend of mine just showed up with an old recording of Max Reger's Solo violin sonata. The most famous solo violin works we know are those from Bach, Vieuxtemp, Ernst, Bartok, Hindemith, and many others. I am very interested in the solo violin work of Max Reger , and would like to ask if anyone here provides this marvelous work.

Best,

Tony

That is the Wieniawski Caprice No.4 Op.18 originally for 2 violins.
Here is the same piece with David and Igor Oistrakh playing.
