I think it's worth mentioning that the RSL website is incredibly easy for all to access
and is great fun to browse, especially with the Google translator working. Just type
in any composer's name and see what they've got. Better still, using a single letter
plus an asterisk, brings up a vast array of goodies to browse. The red links are blocked
files, green ones are open. In all honesty, it's no more difficult than finding Sibley's
files. In both cases, file renaming is required.

You are indeed correct! Same with polish websites. So I am wondering why nobody else is browsing these sites??!!

Hello Alfor,

yes its rather an acquired taste, I would have to agree and also a peculiar spelling - I assume that the no merit comment only applies to the "Scotish" volumes and not the Cmetaha (Smetana), which looks quite musical to me.

It is indeed an interesting collection, and has some fascinating pieces which I have not seen elsewhere (as I have indeed not seen anything from the publisher of the assembled works). I am intrigued by a couple of pieces by 'L. Unico Köhler'. I assume this is someone other than the study-composer and editor Louis Köhler, but I am not sure. Does anyone know?

L. Unico is not the Louis Köhler most of us are familiar with. There are a number of his pieces listed in Pazdírek--I have yet to find any biographical information on him. His Sérénade Opus 74 (Sous le Balcon) in the collection under discussion caught my eye--will you be making a recording of it? There is also another collection on RSL of the same title (Le Concert des Muses) issued by a different publisher that is well worth looking at:

I've been kind of really busy lately, but I'd like to thank you for all your posts, Alfor! Some of those RSL are rare scores and good findings, others not so much, but we choose what we like the most

PS: I wouldn't take any merit from you, and I am sure that Timtin didn't mean to do it also, but either way I must say in imho that if the files are alocated in RSL, I do not know if there's need to overload the PP servers, but maybe we have lots of space in our servers, I do not know

Thanks for that info - most interesting. I have played through the Sérénade - definitely a candidate for my channel. And thanks for the link to the other collection.
