Hello Jonathan,
seeing as how I brought this transcription to your notice, I better post it as well. The original edition had many corrections required so this edition by Jon Skinner addresses that problem.
Looking forwrad to the resulting CD.
best wishes

Well, thanks very much! Greatly appreciated. Are you aware of any recording of the transcription?
The original printing fits huge amounts of music onto each page, perhaps there was a paper shortage at the time.
The engraving of the original is rather nicer than the new edition, which I will certainly consult.

I haven't heard of any recordings unfortunately which given the popularity of the original is very surprising. I totally agree with you about the printing of the older editions, it is far more user-friendly than the modern editions which somehow leave me unenthusiastic about the music I want to play, is that weird? The readability of the more compact older editions means my eyes don't become that tired as quickly as when I have to read a score that sprawls over the page. The modern editions are so clean but don't allow you to be excited, I don't know how to put it any better.
if I come across a recording I will let you know.

I think I'll have to print it on A3, then chop each page in half (or they'll topple over the back of the music desk)!

Seems OK to me. I got 9pp, 7 of which are very clear music. The background is light grey, so check your PDF software,in case it has rendering problems.
