Piano Transcriptions for two hands

Post by Caprotti »

I think that a good way to restart this thread is the attached file, the arrangement of one of the best pieces of music ever written. My friends have it, but it's not so easy to find.

Since this is a transcription for piano two hands, I will be posting it here instead of on the French piano music thread. My own scan.

Unfortunately, I found this old book of Donizetti transcriptions by Dorn and being drunk at the time, I bought it.

This evening, i had the choice of watching Home & Away or doing some scanning. Since both make me depressed it did not really matter which one i chose, but i did decide to do some scanning.

There is some shadowing here, as it was almost impossible to get this monster flat on the scanner.

I was going to write a short bio, but i cannot find any info on this chap.

It is almost certain he was suffering from Huntenitis.

I might not get all of these done tonight, as i am watching a television programme about a man who runs Marathons in the Artic, wearing only his underpants.

He ought to try scanning books. That is really hard.

Undoubtedly you are all at your pianos trying out these masterpieces, so i will leave the rest until tomorrow.

I actually think these might be of use to those wishing to enter into the world of the transcription as they will ease one in gently and prepare one for the superior transcriptions of Thalberg.

Well, this is now the end. I have got far better transcriptions to scan, but i felt i needed to get this out of the way.

I am going to take my book of Dorn to archery practice on Saturday. I really want to know if it can stop an arrow from a 90lb bow at 40 yards.

Luv to all
