Worth mentioning here is definitely Jean Françaix. A jewel for piano, for example "Eloge de la danse", I'll post the 5th piece here as an appetizer. Enjoy! Best regards, Daphnis https://e-piano.bernaunet.com/

Hello everybody !

I am new here.

You can find on Youtube an interpretation of the complete opus 122 of Marmontel (Danses dans le style ancien)) by Japanese students.

This opus is only partially available on IMSLP. Do you know where to find the rest?

Best regards

Thank you, Decharr.

Thank you for your answers

There are 12 pieces in all. A nice collection, I think

I don’t quite understand. This interesting piece by Jean Français, born in 1912, has no relation to André Marmontel, born in 1816

Indeed, Decharr, these two composers are quite different. Mind the spelling Françaix (not Français) and Antoine Marmontel (not André) or Antonin Marmontel for his son.

Two mistakes in a single message, Jean-Seb. My beginnings in this forum are really remarkable

And I think I made a third mistake: I thought Daphnis was responding to our discussion

I’ll do better next time

A little study on Theodore Lack's Studies:

Op. 30 - Etudes Elegantes, Twelve [IMSLP]
Op. 41 - Etudes Romantiques [1st Book] [IMSLP]
Op. 43 - Etudes de Bravoure [IMSLP]
Op. 50 - Etudes de Mecanisme, Twelve - La Legerete [MISSING]
Op. 75 - Etudes Speciales pour la Main Gauche [IMSLP]
Op. 91 - Etudes Artistiques [IMSLP]
Op. 95 - Etudes d'Agilite [here on PP]
Op. 122 - Etudes Speciales de Mecanisme [MISSING]
Op. 172 - La Petite Virtuosite [IMSLP]
Op. 214 - Etudes Romantiques [2nd Book] [MISSING]
Op. 287 - Etudes Romantiques [3rd Book] [MISSING]

Any help to fill the holes on the missing Etudes is much appreciated.

Some of them are available as scanned reproductions from the French national library e.g.
Op.122: https://catalogue.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/cb430842362

If I'm not mistaken, this 37pp score would cost 25.9 €
