I have a directory full of awkwardly huge raw scans I made years ago of the first editions of the three other Diaghilev ballets in piano reduction - L'enfant prodigue, Le pas d'acier, and Sur le Borysthene - and every now and then I straighten and clean a few more pages, but it's exceedingly tedious work so I haven't put a lot of time into it. Have any of those made it online already? Let me know which of those, if any, is most desired around here, and I'll focus my efforts on prepping that one for upload.

Thanks for the offer Broomlet, I already have L'enfant and Borysthene for sure, and think I already have Le Pas as well. Chout was really the only one I had never seen..if however I find I don't have Le Pas I hope you don't mind if I come back to you on this.

I was wondering if anyone could clear up something for me. I was listening to Arcadi Volodos perform his transcritions of Prokofiev's Cinderella. I noticed the the three pieces all had different opus numbers - and yet they're all from Cinderella. Did Prokofiev revise/rearrange the same work, or make additions over time?
I'd be interested in looking at the scores for the Gavotte Op. 95 No. 2, and Waltz Op. 102 No.1.

Yes. Often Prokofiev gave new opus numbers to major arrangements from his ballets. Romeo & Juliet is partially a case in point. The orchestral suites in particular are rather more than arrangements, they could be regarded as recompositions:

1934-5 op64 Romeo & Juliet, 3act ballet (52 nos), orch
1936 op64b Romeo & Juliet: Suite 1, 7movts, orch
1936 op64c Romeo & Juliet: Suite 2, 6movts, orch
1937 op75 Romeo & Juliet: 10pieces, pno
1944-6 op101 Romeo & Juliet: Suite 3, 6movts, orch

In the case of Cinderella:

1940-4 op87 Cinderella, 3act ballet 50 nos, Stalin Prize 1946
1943 op95 Cinderella: 3pieces pno
1943 op97 Cinderella: 10pieces pno
1944 op102 Cinderella: 6pieces pno
1946 op107 Cinderella: Suite 1, orch
1946 op108 Cinderella: Suite 2, orch
1946 op109 Cinderella: Suite 3, orch

Terrific! The contents are actually the Two Pushkin Waltzes op120 (orchestral works not published I believe in Prokofiev's lifetime) and the waltz from Prokofiev's op122 Winter Bonfire, a suite for boy's choir and orchestra. Both works are from 1949 - something of a fateful year for Prokofiev. Many thanks.
