What a pity no one seems to be able to share the Franz transcription...

Another question - does someone know (and have) of a good piano transcription of "Wir setzen uns mit Tränen nieder", the final chorus from St Matthew Passion?

Best wishes,
pianovirus

P.S. The Bach Cantatas site lists the following transcriptions for piano 2H:

Chorus Wir setzen uns in Tränen nieder (Mvt. 68[78]) from Matthäus-Passion BWV 244

Bach-Florentino: Transcription for piano
Bach-F. Guenther: Transcription for piano
Bach-Kleinmichel: Transcription for piano
Bach-L.V. Saar: Transcription for piano
Bach-Schwalm: Transcription for piano
Bach-F. Stade: Transcription for piano
Bach-Stradal: Transcription for piano
Bach-M. Sradtfeld: Transcription for piano

pianovirus wrote:Dear all,

does someone know about transcriptions of Bach's pieces for lute (or Lautenwerck?) BWV 995-1000?

On a CD by Angelika Nebel I heard a transcription of BWV 997 (Lute partita in c minor) by Robert Franz (1815-1892) which I thought sounded very interesting. However, I could not find it anywhere so far; it's also not on IMSLP.

Anyone could help with information or scans?

All the best,

Well, you have that one, found on scorser :

Dear Alexanderplatz, Mouchette and blast,

thank you so much for your hints; so great to have these transcriptions!

I don't want to overuse the generosity of collectors here, but I'd still like to share a final "Bach-hyphenated" question for the moment; what do you think about the Canonic Variations on "Vom Himmel hoch da komm' ich her" to be played on a piano?
Apparently there is a transcription by Tscherlitzky -- http://www.bach-cantatas.com/NVD/PT-Tscherlitzky.htm
Anyone ever looked at this, or has it maybe even been recorded?

All the best,
pianovirus
