anyway the two libraries are :

Biblioteca di studi teatrali Casa di Carlo Goldoni - Venezia - VE - [fondo/segnatura] CORRER - VENEZIA 58 A 83

Biblioteca nazionale Braidense - Milano - MI - [fondo/segnatura] Corniani Algarotti - Racc.Dramm.4889
Dear Caprotti,
thanks for setting me straight about that.
Now my question: Do you know if interlibrary loan is possible with these libraries?
I don't know if I will be in Milano next year (maybe february...)

Thanks,
Alexander

Post by rob »

Does anyone have a scan of the vocal score of Idomeneo, urgently needed by friends in London? Thanks.

Rob, I've got the Kalmus Edition here somewhere, in book form
- tightly bound with 300-odd pages - so almost impossible to scan,
unfortunately. I'd be amazed if there weren't a copy one of the
editions to be found at somewhere like Victoria Library.

Thanks Tim. I have no scanner working because Mustek (the b*st*rds) have not released a Windows7 driver for the scanner I have and ignore my email pleas.

Friends in Midsummer Opera are performing Idomeneo (I think I am too busy to do it) and wondered if I had a score of the chorus parts. I was shocked that I only have copies of the full score. Of course NMA equally only have the full score, as does IMSLP. Anyone else?

Looking for Donizetti's "Le Violon de Cremone"

Post by motek »

Dear Pianophilia members

I'm looking for the score of Donizetti's "Le Violon de Cremone". The text is in french and was written after the story by E.T.A Hoffmann. If anyone has an idea where I can get it, or maybe even has the score (!) I would be delighted. It is extremely hard to find.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have the VS of Othmar Schoeck's masterpiece Penthesilea by any chance please?
I'm trying to collect as many scores by the great Swiss composer as possible, but it's an Alpine task!

Unfortunately, Penthesilea is not in my collection. But I have his complete piano works as published in the Complete edition if you or anyone is interested.

Here's the vocal score for Marcel Mihalovici's Die Heimkehr. Libretto by Karl Heinrich Ruppel after Guy de Maupassant.

Synopsis:
A sailor from a small Normandy fishing village, who was thought lost at sea, returns home after an absence of seventeen years. He finds his wife married to another man by whom she has two children and whom the sailor's own two daughters – now nearly grown up – call "Father". This very short story is about a real conflict, but the ending is not tragic. The situation would seem to demand that one of the three people involved in the conflict should bid adieu – not only to the situation but to life itself. This would then be, so to speak, the typical tragedy of the homecomer. However, Maupassant's fishermen are good and upright people who have looked Death in the face on the high sea often enough and are not in a mind to give him an easy victory, when they see that life can go on.
