Many thanks for this de Bréville find Malcolm. Along with the other works posted on the forum there is a nice suite of three pieces for harmonium form 1912 which can be played on the piano. They are included in volume four of the monumental eight volume collection "Maitres Contemporains de l’Orgue" edited by Joseph Joubert (1878 - 1963) in the teens. (LOTS of familiar names throughout.) Sibley scanned and posted the entire collection about five years ago--here's the link to the first third of said volume:

Thanks hugely for this, Malcolm. Now, if only somebody can find his four-movement suite 'Stamboul', about which I've been enquiring for years...

The only copies I am aware of are held by both the Bibliotheque Nationale de France and the Openbare Bibliotheek Den Haag - might be worth trying one of those ?

Thanks, Malcolm and Jim. I'll try to get hold of the score via my University's Interlibrary Loan system.

Very nice edition of Franck. Haven't looked at this score in many years.
Thanks for posting, Alfred.

Hi all,

I need a little help regarding C. Franck.

Can anyone explain me his Fantasias? Did he write any "Fantasia" for piano? Or maybe did a transcription of one his "Fantasias" for organ to piano?

I have a list (for piano) that says: "Fantasia" and "2nd Fantasia" only.

thanks.

He wrote what we call in French "Fantaisie".
