A somewhat more obscure Czech composer - Frantisek Picka (1873-1918). Organist, conductor and composer. Born into a musical family and received his training in Prague. Held several posts as chorus master and opera conductor. His opera "The Painter" flopped but he is best remembered for his church music, including nine masses.

I have posted his Husitska Rhapsodie.

Thanks for all those works...Does anyone have Twelve Rhapsodies by Vorisek? I think it is his Opus 1...Sorry if I'm wrong...I post also his impromptus if anyone wants them...I guess they're in public domain...

I don't remember seeing this posted before on PP........but may be in its dark and distant past ? But for those toccata enthusaists.

Yes, but he was neither Czech nor Slovak, but Croatian by birth and possibly Serbian by heritage.
