Thanks for the Fineberg sonatas, Alfor. Not exactly my cup of tea, but a lot of originality shown.

Deserves a medal,

From a relatively quiet person - who merely quivers in the shadows of the more musically literate giants - and therefore hesitates to venture an opinion (especially difficult to do so, when I find that a lot of the material is far too hard for me to play really), nevertheless - thankyou very much. Rgardless of how poor a pianist I actually am (perceived or really), looking at a lot of this material has certainly enriched my own general understanding, spurred my enthusiasm and afflated my aspirations - so, notwithstanding my general lack of specific comment (for which, I am in any event, totally unqualified)- I do truly appreciate every single posting.

This remark probably applies to every poster on pianophilia - but 1,000 postings - that prompts me to make the remark specifically

Hi Malcolm,

thank you for encouragement! Will do my best to provide new and exciting scores (unfortunately the SBB very strictly sticks to the German 70 year term of copyright, so at the moment no Akimenko op. 44!).

"Pianomasochist": do you think it might be possible fo find a very slightly less negative name

I think we are stuck with what the software provides and I don't think we have that possibility. In any case there are questions of quality. You always post brand new scans - there are some people (like me for the last year) who only recycle scores, although that can be very valuable too.

As to the 'piano masochist' label - that was our own invention in the admin team and we thought it quite humorous. Perhaps you would prefer 'piano sadist'?

Wonderful, Alfor! This sonata just bristles with gorgeous chromatic harmonies and very definitely my cup of tea, as it were. Now compare this to the Gersheim harmonic universe--it is the difference between night and day. In addition to the harmony, the expanded melodic lines are very much in the manner of Richard Strauss, as you rightly suggest, Alfor.

Congratulations on the 1000 post club of which, I believe, there are only two members!

I greatly anticipate your postings and when you post a score such this, I find myself all afternoon at the piano.
