Pianophilia

Here's a short piece by Sergei Berinsky (1946-1998), a very interesting Moldavian-born composer who was very active in the Moscow music scene during the Brezhnev/glasnost years and after, though never went on to become as well-known as Schnittke or Gubaidulina. Also, a great many of his works are available at classicalarchives.com, apparently with the blessing of his widow. I haven't ever tried that website, so I can't attest to whether or not it's worth subscribing...

Sonatina, for piano

I don't know anything about this composer. As one might surmise, looking up info on someone named A. Blok (including music scores) yields more noise than signal because of the famous revolutionary poet and the tons of works and songs written after his work. According to the score, he was born in 1957:

Thanks once again, Jim! As a reward, here's another I haven't found anything for. At the least, a full name is graciously provided at the head of the score. Along with this work, all II know of by him is a sonatina for piano (which I will hopefully see pretty soon). Enjoy:

The first of a few postings of works by Anton Rubinstein. I must agree with Alfor that Rubinstein's music is often of a mixed quality........I always felt as a composer he did not quite know when to shut-up, and keep a composition's structure and material succinct. Although there are some odd gems amoungst his many works - usually more in the miniatures rather than larger works like the sonatas.

These works have not, to my knowledge, been posted on IMSLP or RSL.

Yes, I have this volume. Hard work to scan the complete volume (242 pages!)
