Re: Music from the British Isles
Thank you for these British scores, Alfor.
I note the files are very heavy but can be significantly compressed. We tend to spend a lot more memory space than we used to do at the beginning of our collection, due to the extended possibilities of the internal and external drives.

Something for the start of the weekend, one of Britain's 'light music' greats, Haydn Wood (1882-1959) - his Suite 'Moods'.

Re: Music from the British Isles
Seconded - this is the first solo piano arrangement of anything other than 'Roses of Picardy' by Wood that I have seen. I say arrangement, because this is actually an arrangement of an orchestral work (the Prelude appears on a 1940s Queens Hall Light Orchestra recording)Jim Faston wrote:Nice one, Malcolm--thanks.

Re: Music from the British Isles
Charles Arthur Rawlings (1857-1919) bizarrely had 34 pseudonyms,
if The Music Sack website is to be believed. (This site is somewhat
vague about Rawlings' dates.) Several of the names in their list are
female names. Two of the best known male names are Theo Bonheur
and Auguste Cons. Maurice Telma was the name used for this particular
piece, which is quite attractive.

There is an interesting piece about the Rawlings family here (second composer on the page): https://musicalhomejournal.wordpress.com/composers/Timtin wrote:Charles Arthur Rawlings (1857-1919) bizarrely had 34 pseudonyms...

Re: Music from the British Isles
Did No. 03 from this group ever turn up or is it posted somewhere on PP? Thanks!liveforpiano wrote:Re: Cyril Scott.
I have found number one of the opus 74 which is Danse Elegiaque.
According to my catalogue I do have number three as well, but like with the English Waltz
I have not found it yet.
I hope to do a bit of searching through the Christmas break as my concerts with my group
of singers finishes tomorrow until Jan.7th.
Meanwhile, enjoy this Danse.

Re: Music from the British Isles
Hello all!
I am seeking the piano solo version of Wilfred Sanderson's Sincerity (Sincerité) - there is a cello/piano version on IMSLP. Other than the large national libraries, does anyone have this or know of a volume in which it lies? Any help is "sincerely" appreciated!
