I'm not sure Petrocokino got as far as Handel....this really is quite a throwback for any 20th century composer. One wonders if this was an exercise in re-creating the early Baroque style--in which case he may have succeeded.

Thanks for posting, Timtin.

The piece I chose by Paul Petrocokino does seem pre-Handel
in style, but the 2 volumes of piano pieces I have by him are
indeed mainly in Handel's style. The above posting was a
not-entirely-representative sample to bring PP's name to the
attention of Pianophiliacs. I'm reluctant to scan anything else
from these books, due to copyright concerns.
The same is true of the file below. It's a list of William
Crotch's instrumental ouput, lifted from Jonathan Rennert's
excellent little 1975 book about the composer, which I'd
recommend to anyone with an interest in the great man,
who was, incidently, William Sterndale Bennett's teacher.

For anyone who enjoys the piano music of Percy Elliott,
I've added another work of his to IMSLP. It's his set of
4 pieces published in 1929, Sweet Summer Days.

Obviously not Bache's most brilliant idea:
My download consists of blank pages...
