Jean-Séb
Hi everybody,
I am new here and may answer especially this question with a link to my just a few days ago produced recording of Nicodés Sonata:
Nicodé pianosonata op.19
You might find also other more or less rare recordings that might be interesting for this thread on my site, like for instance this piece of Eduard Franck:
Eduard Franck Allegro agitato op.4
Score
or this Impromtus by Clara Schumann (you can get the score at imslp)
Clara Schumann Impromptus Souvenir de vienne
just to mention a few ampng others.
To let you be warned early enough, all my recordings are produced with sampled pianos and historical keyboard instruments and sequencers. The guys from pianostreet usually became quite aggressive as soon as they realise this simple fact. But as far as you are just interrested in the music, as I am, let me invite you to listen.
best

Krieger 6 Musicalische Partien
I obtained a score from the Bavarian Library website today that I have wanted for a long time: Johann Krieger's 6 partitas from 1697!
The score is available here:

or of course here:

Dear friends,
thanks to Jean-Seb's scan we all had a chance to see Adolf Gutmann's Two Mazurkas Op.9 nr.1 and 2.
Even though scanning was done best possible ,I have decided to Typeset the scores for easier playing and I thought the music deserved it.
In addition here are two MIDI sounds of Mazurkas.
Regards to all

Yes, it does and you deserve our thanks for doing it.
Just as a note to all, the PP team has no problems with typeset scores of PD works, as long as it is recognised that in so doing people are allowing public distribution of their typeset scores (even though they retain the copyright for typesetting).
Regards
Fred
(my thanks to Rob for clarification on this issue)

Steffen,
I applaud you for your recordings - they are musical and artistic. To me, it is a bit odd that purists should object to some MIDI editing after the fact - this is very similar to doing a number of takes and "splicing" together a recording from them (something most purists accept as normal for a recording!). As for using sampled instruments... if one has an instrument that can be made to sound like the "real thing", who cares? IMHO it is more important to get unknown music in a format that it can easily be heard. You have honestly stated that you are using these techniques, so you're not trying to "fool" anyone...
I've been playing with virtual instruments and performances for over 10 years now - I'm faster at it than I used to be (and a better product now too, I think). Keep up the good work!

G, we require proof of your audacious statement. Some samples are required please
