I'm not sure that you can describe Richard Strauss as a miscellaneous German composer, but from Sibley...

Publication Name: Sonate H moll für Pianoforte : op. 5 / componirt von Richard Strauss.
URL: https://urresearch.rochester.edu/instit ... onNumber=1
Composer:Strauss, Richard (1864 - 1949)

Publication Name: Stimmungsbilder, Op. 9, für Klavier componirt von Richard Strauss, zu 2 Händen.
URL: https://urresearch.rochester.edu/instit ... onNumber=1
Composer:Strauss, Richard (1864 - 1949)

Fred

Dear Fred,
Thank you so much for these Sibley links in general...but especially to the Strauss Sonata which I've never seen but always wanted a copy of!! Ditto on the Stimmungsbilder. Ultra-rare material and absolutely superb.

All best,
Frank :D

Alexis Hollaender (1840-1924). German pianist. Studied at the Berlin Royal Academy with Grell. In 1861 became a teacher at Kullak's Academy; conducted various choral groups (1864) and the Cacilienverein in 1870. Primarily composed piano pieces, choruses and songs.

There's this composer I found awhile ago named Martin Scherber, and, apart from the recordings on the official website, I can't find much out about his music. So, I know it's probably completely unlikely, but does anyone own a copy of any of his works? Specifically, I'm looking for his piano works (the only piano work he seems to have written is a set of pieces called "Das ABC"), but I'll take any help anyone can give me.

A search on WorldCat ( http://www.worldcat.org/ )for "Martin Scherber", then filtered for musical scores comes up with 19 links to various library holdings. But they all refer to just three works: A symphony in D minor, a symphony in F minor, and a symphony in Bflat (H) minor; all published in the 1970s, so definitely not public domain.

A quick check of the U.S. Library of Congress ( http://catalog.loc.gov/ ) returns the same; just the three symphonies.
