Joseph Gustav MRACZEK
Bohemian-German composer, violinist, conductor. 1878-1944. Studied with Frnaz Mraczek (theory, piano), Koretz (vl), Hellmesberger. Performed as violinist, then opera conductor. Settled in Dresden. Leader of a masterclass of composition, conductor Philh. O., chorus conductor, etc.

Piano compositions: 3 Stücke in Tanzform; Das Bilderbuch; Bilderbogen (children pieces);
2 Tanzsilhouetten; Orientalische Skizzen (trancr. of an orchestral work).

Sibley have released this (their latest batch was quite voluminous and interesting) ...

Thank you for pointing this out ! This album has the beautiful nocturne by sorely unknown composer Henisz, which is the very last piece in the collection ! It has also been recorded by Khwarg on her nocturne album.

Friml.

Does anyone have the Five Character Pieces op 84 by Rudolf Friml? In particular I'm after no. 1 Reminiscence, but it would be great to see them all.

I've been listening to Sara Buechner's Friml CD; it's lovely.

Most of Friml is still under copyright, but you can buy it from Schirmer's
