Frank,
As always - thank you
Luigi - As always - any recordings you have (or sheets) are appreciated. I don't consider myself to be particularly good at playing the piano and whilst I love looking at the sheet music, I often find I struggle to actually play it with confidence - so any authentic recording of what it should sound like always helps me enormously - especially since the fidelity of the scores is often somewhat loose! As far as I'm concerned all this sort of music is a challenge and there is an enormous difference between thinking "I can probably play that" and actually doing it ! Thank goodness I only do it for personal pleasure.
Anyway - it occurs to me, German - (or German-sounding composers having featured recently), that we haven't posted up any Ernst Fischer.
Let me start: NMS TTOS
There are more to come.
Dancing Masks (and Marabu) also appear in a duet version (or two piano version) - I have those, but I think that Frank may have posted those already in a different forum - I need to check but if not I will post up in due course.
Also, I suspect, (from the distinctive file names' reference to number of pages), that these files may have originally come into my possesion from Martin, (HonkyTonkPiano) with whom I have happily exchanged files previously - if so - thanks Martin !!
Regards,
tobyjj

Re: School of Syncopation - Jazz, Stride, Novelties & the Like.
tobyjj,
The problem with the Ernst Fischer scores is that there are many of them, mostly folios which take a lot of time to copy. It was my intention to copy these, but if you have them already and want to post please do so, it will save me a lot of time!
I scanned one very late (1947) Fischer folio (this might actually be the latest folio of original novelty piano solos), which is attached.

Hello All,
Re Ernst or Ernest Fischer (Fisher) Wikipedia says this:
Ernst Fischer (10 April 1900 - 10 July 1975) was a German keyboardist and composer of light music both for piano and for orchestra. He became well-known to radio listeners all over the world from the 1930s to 1960s. Although he wrote numerous piano pieces, perhaps his most famous work is the orchestral suite, Südlich der Alpen (South of the Alps). He is also well known as the performer on "der grosse Odeon-orgel"; he performed under the name of Marcel Palotti, somewhere between 1930 and 1937. He created on the Odeon recordings with this (Welte)theatre-organ a very special mysterious sound.
Now, I do not have that many of his "numerous" pieces, nor have I previously ever heard of Marcel Palotti - so if anyone has the balance after I've finished posting - please post !
Some more: NMS TTOS
More to come
Regards,
tobyjj

Hello Frank,
You nust have been uploading at the same time as me!
I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that you have all my Fischer (Fisher) [or Martin's!] - whatsoever. You seem to have EVERYTHING!
Forgive me for being presumptuous in posting - BUT, your postings were moving vaguely into the K's AND more importantly - I'd much rather save you scanning time on material I already have since I'm far more likely to see material I don't have, that way. As Long as I post up too...
Anyway, the one you posted "Fischer, Ernst - Hobelspane - 4 Klavier Soli" - is already something I wasn't even aware existed - so I'm already very happy now!
More Fischer (Fisher): I think that is all the Fischer I have (unless hidden in mixed folios) - if anyone has any others of his "numerous piano compositions" or anything by Marcel Palotti (Who He?) - please post ...
Regards,
tobyjj

Re: School of Syncopation - Jazz, Stride, Novelties & the Like.
hello tobyjj and everyone,
I can't believe how our "Syncopations" thread has dropped to the bottom in less than 2 days! Folks if you have time to download these thousands of pages I'm uploading, you might consider uploading some scores of your own.
OK....here comes the onslaught of Ernst Fischer folios... also might want to check out the "German Composers" thread, as I've posted a classical work by one Ernst von Fischer there (almost certainy a different composer).
All Best,
Frank
