Alkan, Les Regrets de la Nonnette.

Is the score available anywhere? I'd love to see it.

The comments for this Youtube video indicate "The work has not been published yet except for its inclusion in the Trinity School exam pieces for grade 6, 2001 edited by our secretary, Nicholas King."

It is quite astonishing that any work of Alkan is not yet published yet here is one.

This work, a set of miniature preludes by Charles Chaulieu, looks like it could be rather delightful!
I haven't played them myself yet, but thought I'd share anyway.

Incidentally, I'd be particularly interested if anyone knows the whereabouts of Chaulieu's two piano Sonates?

Keen to get my hands on Antonin d'Argenton's piano sonata (Op. 15) – supposedly a very fine work - published by Henry Lemoine and included in the company catalogue in 1861.

Thanks for the link--I made a PDF of the images from BNF with minor cropping.

Hello All,

Yes, thanks for that Jim, since when I clicked on the Gallica link I got a dreaded 403 response.!

You saved me anguish...

I have the Grande Fantaisie on Der Freischutz Op.20 by D'Argenton which is still to be scanned, at least I don't remember scanning it.
regards
Brian

PS My memory failed me, i did scan it, hope it keeps you busy for a couple of hours, enjoy.
Here is a link to another work by d'Argenton – a Cracovienne.
Apparently d'Argenton lived for 10 years in Russia, so anyone with a good grasp of the language could try the Russian library catalogues if they were so inclined? :D
