Thanks for the discography, Alfred. Things to look into....especially the violin sonata.

Agree with Fleubis. No knowledge about Furtwangler's compositions at all... Thanks Alfor! By just looking at the score, I find that counterpoint writing is really quite abused... :D

To fill your embarrassing gap in education  :

(nmr = not my rip)

Attention: these are low-quality mp3s; the original CD,
which is out-of-print to my knowledge, sounds way better!

If any piece needed a good editing, this is it. Stradel did a decent job. Thanks for posting this nice hi-res edition.

Rather pleasant if not terribly original. Thank you.

Ha, Alfred, I doubt there is anyone in any of the countries surrounding me who are enjoying the fruits of your research as much as I am.

Not wanting too seem to critical, I haven't chimed in on Furtwangler.

Love the Reubke Sonata. Thanks Alfor the Stradal edition. Regarding the Furtwangler Symphonic Concerto, I have to admit that I can't finish my listening on the Youtube. Let me try your mp3.

I agree that the Furtwängler Concerto has some weak and strange parts.
IMHO by far the best mvt. is the second.
Like with many other compositions it is a different matter when playing the piece
oneself - this may give you pleasure and a sort of satisfaction even if the piece is not first rank.

P.S. You nevertheless should give F.'s 2nd Symphony and 2nd Violin Sonata a try!
If you are really interested, I can post decent recordings of both works.
