Coincidence? Last week a CD was issued including this piece and Dale's Sonata, played by Danny Driver.

I understand it more and more.
Now I can HONESTLY say, that I rate it a VERY important and great piece ! I do like it very much.
But piano crisis lasts, you know.....
Too much other bullshit to do, and in middle of life at a point to learn and make clearer, what other musicians have learnt at child's age ...
Before next concerts I have to have a restart ....
and then BRIDGE

Great Myra Hess premiered the sonata, but I am not quite whether she recorded it (she did record the sonata the sonata of Howard Ferguson).
If anybody is interested in the fine LP-recording by Eric Parkin, please let me know!

Away from all the serious stuff for a moment, here's Valentine Hemery's Elves' Caprice.
It's great fun to play, and seems to have borrowed one of Schumann's tunes.

I don't know whether BBC Radio 3 is available worldwide but if anyone is interested Frank Bridge is "this week's composer", so everyday, between noon and 1pm London time, they will be talking about him and performing his music, including the Piano Sonata on Wednesday and the Three Lyrics on Friday.
