Thank you so much! I have certainly spent the money on these scores and could use the "clean up." I hope that you find them interesting too. They were the Marie Jaell Impromptu and Album Leaf... and a bunch of Dreyschock - the Op. 92 Soiree d'Hiver, along with Opp. 75, 76, 84, 91,102, 104, and 140. No pressure, of course - whatever you find interesting!

Gutmann's Op. 31, a waltz entitled L'Élégante, is meant to be an effective work.

It has been scanned to Gallica for anyone who may have overlooked it, along with several other works of his.

Here is L'Élégante:

There are recently uploaded to YouTube a number of truly lovely pieces by Gutmann. The scores, alas, are missing; though if one checks the pianist's website, it appears as though she has them alllll. I have tried to contact her to no avail, but perhaps someone else may try? Does anyone have a YouTube account and could send her a message by this means?

I would love to see the scores for the Op. 32 Reveries, if possible. Please see this website for more information:

Thank you for any and all help!

Hi musiclife217.

The Op. 32 Reveries are held in both the Bibliotheque nationale de Paris and at the British Library.

Best wishes

I have already know the Gutmann videos last year and repeatedly contact her on youtube and by mail, 6 emails I think, but could get no reply. I have also gave the score's location and method to order to a pianostreet member who has requested for the reveries, he has ordered it from the Berlin State Library, but not willing to send me a copy.

Thank you all for sharing this information. I honestly do not understand the culture of harbouring scores. I do understand that copies can cost money and research can feel personal, but what else are the scores for if not for playing and sharing with others? Musicians should want to spread their music as far as possible.... just my opinion, of course. With that said, I'm going to dig up some rarities for posting!

I don't think this is a very strange behaviour. Remember that soloists like Rubinstein had to pay Stravinskij's Petruska not only for the commission itself, but also to be granted for every public performance within a certain lenght of time. Evidently that pianist wants to be the only one able to insert some Gutmann pieces in her recitals or recordings.

Perhaps she is using these pieces to attract more students under her teaching? Who knows?

Here's another Filtsch, his Konzertstueck B minor, edited by Ferdinand Gajewski.
