I was digitizing a tape recording of a violin piano recital (no description of contents was available)
and was searching desperately for a piece of music (by Mozart as I had guessed),
which I could not identify, although it sounded familiar to me.

By just typing 3453516535 in the field „Scale Degree“ I had the correct result** in an instant!!!

**It turned out to be the beautiful 2nd mvt. of Mozart's Violin Sonata in C, K 296.

I tried out that ThemeFinder website....and was quite amazed......

Concerning Prokofiev's "the Tale of Stone Flower" op. 118:
Unfortunately I cannot open these files, there is an error while attempting to convert them to pdf.
Has anybody the the full version ( with comments in Russian ) in pdf ?
Is the question who had made this piano version clarified ( is it A. Vedernikov or not) ?

Here is the A. Gotlieb's two-pianos transcription of two dances from Prokofiev's "the Tale of the Stone Flower" op.118.
This transcription appears to be very effective.
Who possesses other transcriptions of A. Gotlieb ? Apparently he has written about hundert transcriptions....

Gotlieb certainly is a very good transcriber. Had much fun with these 2 dances today after recording the 2nd piano on MIDI. Thanks for posting this kamator.

Did I miss the Liszt-friedman or the Rac-corelli?

Hi Kamator,

Please note that my old IMSLP file of 'The Tale of the Stone Flower' Op118
was a 2H transcription made by A. Vedernikova, published in Moscow in 1962.
The pre-ample to this score is all in Russian, so it's tricky to comprehend.

Thanks a lot Timtin. It clarifies everything. I read Russian so always leave Russian texts intact in your files, please.
The full name is Anatoliy Vedernikov, a renowned pianist and transcriber of Prokofiev, Gliere etc.
Apparently Prokofiev dictated him his last compositions at his deathbed, but this remains to be verified.

Happy to help! In the frontispiece, the arranger's name has an 'a'
at the end of his surname, but I'm not too sure why this is.
Perhaps he had gender reassignment!

I can offer a simple explanation:

Suppose it is written in Russian: -Transkriptzija A. Vedernikova-. Then it cooresponds in English to
-Transcription by A. Vedernikov-.
The accusative case of "Vedernikov" is "Vedernikova" - that is why "-a" pops up.
The absence of cases in English makes it sometimes difficult to recognize what is going on.
