Continuing onward with Wieniawski, here is a very early work - Op. 5 - which is a joint composition of Josef with his brother Henri; a Grand Duo Poloanise for Violin & Piano.

Finally on Wieniawski, here is what must be an extremely rare piano solo transcription of his Op. 41 Suite Romantique pour Orchestre.

A challenge perhaps?

If you have the score, great, if not - does any know the location of Op. 27 - Three Mazurkas by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzynski? Again, can't seem to find this one anywhere at all....even among libraries!

Many thanks for any efforts toward this end!

I love these Nocturnes and I want you all to enjoy them too -- also, see my last post to see if you can help! Thanks all! If anyone has any other interesting Dobrzynski piano works, that would be great, too!

Nice work that man, that is a lovely scan and I look forward to having a go at playing these nocturnes tonight.

The Op.27 is defeating me at present, but I will continue to try as this composer in my most humble opinion is worth the effort.

Thanks

Thank you, Thal - he is !! And, yes, those little nocturnes are great! I have uncovered a number of great scores from Dobrzynski and will try to post more as I try to restore them.

Yes, I can't even find the location of this Op. 27, yet it has been partially recorded by Pierre Armengaud, to whom I have just sent an e-mail in this regard. We shall see....

Thanks very much for the Dobrzynski Nocturnes, Musiclife.

I played through the D flat Nocturne 7 or 8 times last night. The middle section is especially lovely.

Does anyone have the elusive Pozegnanie (Farewell) by Ignacy Feliks Dobrzynski ?? Can't seem to find this one anywhere ...
Okay, so I'm replying to my own post!

I requested a scan of Pozegnanie by Dobrzynski from Berlin and after receiving it I have discovered that it does n-o-t match the score played here:

by Mr. Bart van Oort....

This score is just driving me crazy and I have tried to contact the pianist, but I haven't heard anything -- again, just the location of this score would be much appreciated.... anyone have any ideas ????

I would be inclined to e mail the PWM old chap: http://www.pwm.com.pl/__list__gp1.html

They have helped me with some info and pointed me in the right direction before.

Perhaps also the Pro Musica Camerata Foundation http://www.promusicacamerata.pl/en/index.php who incidentally publish the Dobrzynski Piano Concerto.

Thank you so much, Thal - these are good ideas and I have contacted them both - I will be more than happy to share this one - the sooner the better! ♫
