Re: Polish Composers
Hello pianomac,
There are a number of Zarebski's pieces on IMSLP (http://imslp.org/wiki/Main_Page)
If you have pieces that are not there, it would be interesting to see what you have.

Re: Polish Composers
Dear Pianomac,
Thanks very much for posting this list. I know we are in the piano thread but any of the songs that you can post I would be extremely grateful - they seem to be even more obscure than the solo piano.
I have a two singer friends of Polish origin so I may be able to work at them.
Rob

I was very much taken with the Gradstein Adagio & Scherzo posted a little while ago. I'd love to hear the Adagio especially played professionally. Does anyone have more by him? - ISMLP has nothing.
thanks

Re: Polish Composers
This is all fascinating stuff, thanks for sharing. It's way beyond me technically so I guess I'll just have to wait for a Hamelin/other open-minded pianist to take note.Dani_area_51 wrote:I do have one more, the Hommage a Chopin Books...I'd love also to hear this pieces recorded, but I do not believe there's any recording made so far.danzinho wrote:I was very much taken with the Gradstein Adagio & Scherzo posted a little while ago. Tansman - Piano Concerto No. 1 (1925)
Here's something interesting. While Tansman's 2nd Piano Concerto (dedicated to Charlie Chaplin) from the late 1920s is kind of well-known and has been recorded a couple of times, I'd not heard or seen much about his first piano concerto composed in 1925. The dedicatee of this one is Édouard Ganche, a French musicologist who wrote books about Tansman's countryman Frederyck Chopin.
I hope somebody considers performing this work, as I'm sure it's every bit as excellent as Tansman's other great work from the 1920s. Enjoy.
I'll be checking back over the next few weeks with more stuff from the L'Ecole de Paris composers I'm interested in.

Re: Polish Composers
I'm very pleased to share with our membership several works by the great Josef Wieniawski. This first one - Op. 39 Six Pieces Romantiques - contains several gems which are great fun to play.
Enjoy!
