Aleksandr Gedike (Goedicke) 1877-1957

There are quite a number of pieces by Gedike available both on Pianophilia and at IMSLP - however, I had never seen a copy of his Opus 66 Three Pieces until recently, and which is duly attached.

Unfortunately because of the poor quality of the paper and print - I have had to scan this work using grayscale.

The Polonaise is quite a substantial piece.

Thank you so much for the Gedike, Malcolm. Much enjoyment to be had here playing through these pieces. This is certainly the largest polonaise I've ever encountered, but is somewhat repetitive but I really like the Silhouette and Poeme.

Rakov! One of my favorites so this find is truly delightful. This appears to be the first Rakov in my collection with an actual opus number! Greatly appreciated, Alfred.

Excellent! I only know the Violin Concerto, and that has fallen out of favor with violinists since its glory days in the early to mid-twentieth century.

That piece is by his brother Yuly, and I like it very much. Rumours exist of it being orchestrated by Tchaikovsky.

Cornucopia of repeats ! There are a number of scores on sites like IMSLP and Pianophilia that are far from perfect, and as I was scanning these for my own collection, I though it wise to share with you. These are hopefully a little better as scans - feel free to take what you want for your own collections.

And a new scan of Leonid Nikolayev's String Quartet No. 1 (fs) in the Chamber Music thread.

Thanks for the fresh scans, I haven't looked at any of these in a while.
