Many thanks to Aggelos for the most interesting Amirov The Arabian Nights score. Quite interesting melodies here.
And thanks also to our dear Malcolm for the Taktakishvili Suite is extremely interesting, Tak seems have gone all out in writing this piece. The rhythmic and melodic flavors seem endless.

Great! Thank you!

P.S. The scan quality is not up to your usual standard. How come?

Alas, not my scan........sent to me by a contact in Georgia. I just thought something is better than nothing. I am now trying to look at getting originals sent to me but proving difficult and costly !!

To my knowledge, Grigor Egiazaryan, wrote very little for the piano [he was primarily an orchestral composer with ballets and symphonic works plus some choral pieces]. The only piano pieces I am aware of, beyond the Four Preludes posted by Alfor, are:

Three Dances (1935)
In Memory of Komitas (1936)
Poeme Sazandar (1938)

There is a 'Dance' in one of the Children albums posted previously on PP...........may be one of the Three Dances ?

Jim, don't worry, I knew about Alfor's post.
At least, his symphonic works are well crafted with sparkling, hyper-coloured orchestration.

In addition, I am looking forward to any works from Uzeyir Hajibeyov (a.k.a. Uzeir Gadzhibekov)

And why not from his cousin too?...

Hello,
I'm having quite a bit of trouble finding some sheet music, and hoping someone can help:

Composer: Loris Tjeknavorian (sometimes spelled 'Cheknavarian')
Piece: Fantastic Dances Op. 2 for piano.

I have searched catalogs, libraries, and sheet music repositories, but can't find these pieces anywhere.

Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much!

This is a tricky one, because Tjeknavorian, of course, is still with us. Obviously posting his works here would not be possible, but (and I imagine you've already looked at this) if you go through his official website (http://www.loristjeknavorian.com/contacts.htm, which apparently gives his email address) you may be able to get somewhere.

Regards
Fred
