The Gabrilovich can be found on IMSLP but the general standard of copies is not that brillant....so here are some alternatives scans.

Alfor originally posted the Gozenpud (Hasen) Op 10 Sonata - but it was a coloured copy coming in at 50MB.....so here is a simpler black & white copy that I had.

It is a pity that there are no really substantial recordings by Mark Twain's
son in law. in the 1920s pianist Conrad Hansen heard G.
playing Brahms op. 83 in Berlin and was deeply impressed!

Thank you Malcolm for the Gabrilovich scores....I used to have some 78's of his as I recall, but this is the first time for me to see some of his compositions-rather light stuff but fun to play. And Alfor comes up with more fascinating trivia which always sends me to the encyclopedias. What would a Sunday be without a rabbit hole to go down?

Nikolai Ivanovich Shishkin. Unfortunately, I know nothing else about the composer beyond he died circa 1911, and was a noted composer of romances. There only appears to be six known piano works - all published by Jurgenson. I have three of these - and see Berin have the other three, which I will hopefully obtain at some stage.

1. Etude fantaisie in G minor 'Waves Upon a Barren Shore' (Jurgenson) 2. Etude No. 1 in A major (Jurgenson) 3. Meditation No. 1 in E major (Jurgenson) 4. Etude No. 2 in C# minor (Jurgenson)

Very nice job on the fingering here, Alfred. Appreciate having this as it's the only Prokofieff sonata I play in full. I did find a couple of surprises, too!

I am afraid, Prokofiev never made it to Panama...

...but he made an excellent recording of the 2nd mvt. of Sonata No. 4,
which will be my next fingering task (the complete Sonata).
