And another set of pieces by this student of Shostakovich and Shebalin:

Vladimir Mikhailovich BRUMBERG
The Wounded Angel, triptych on paintings by Finnish artists; 1. The Wounded Angel (on a painting by Hugo Simberg), 2. The Farmer and Death (on a painting by Hugo Simberg), 3. The Thresholds of Kyureskoski (on a painting by Werner Holmberg)
Brumberg - Wounded Angel (Triptych on Paintings by Finnish Artists), for piano.pdf
As an item of related interest, here's another page that was included in the collection, which contained three recent shares (Brumberg, Mirshakar, Lungul) and Lobonov's 'Ode to Grass' (use the search function).

Definitely. I know this is 'Pianophilia' but... :-)

Lol, quite a few of those chamber works include a piano...and many of the ones that don't were probably written while sitting at one!

Here's another recent acquisition. This may have also been scanned and posted on that one Russian site, but I'm not sure. Malcolm posted a few other works by this Tatar composer. I couldn't find a date for this one.

Rustem Mukhamet-Khazeyevich YAKHIN (Tatarstan)
Piano Sonata

Many thanks for your latest series of uploads. Here's a brief bio with dates for Yakhin:

caostotale thanks for finding & posting these most interesting etudes. One of my favorite forms of entertainment is playing through etudes and this is a great selection of pieces I've not seen before. I shall be having a lot of fun this morning.

Two rather 'meaty' Nocturnes from Yury Biryukov (1908-1976.)

Apologies, score was very delapidated but hopefully got a reasonably clean scan.

Thank you for rescuing Biryukov from oblivion, Malcolm and agree with Fred. I find these pieces are very pianistic and sound quite well.
