Re: Alfor's Rarities
All one has to do is to contact the copyright holder by e mail and ask for permission to obtain a copy from a Library.
The piece concerned by was published by J Curwen & Sons who are now controlled by Hal Leonard as shown on the following link:
http://mpa.org/directories/music_publishers/show/225
As long as the e mail giving permission contains the full address and contact details of the publisher, you should have no problem in forwarding this to the holding library with your request for a copy. In this case, Cambridge University Library would be by far the cheapest. Applications can be made using the form attached.
Libraries are very helpful, but in my experience publishers are not, apart from the likes of Wilhelm Hansen who are absolute darlings.
I would do this for you, but the young lady at Cambridge is undoubtedly busy copying all of the old garbage I have ordered. In addition, please be aware that she often photocopies her finger nails as well.
Hope this all helps.
Luv

Emil FREY (Swiss composer)
Kleine slavische Suite op. 38 Alexander ZEMLINSKY
Ländliche Tänze op. 1 (original edition) Hellmuth FRANKE (German composer, 1890-?)
Sonate BACH-Comte Geza ZICHY
Chaconne (left hand alone) I think there is an obscure German composer (B..?), who did a similar transcription.
