Jacques-Simon Herz: born Frankfort-on-the-Main 1794; died at Nice 1880. He went to Paris when a child, and in 1807 was admitted to the Conservatoire, where he studied piano under Pradher. Herz became a distinguished pianist, and inaugurated a series of very successful concerts. For some years he played and taught in England. Returning to Paris in 1857, he was appointed assistant professor of piano at the Conservatoire, where his brother, Henri Herz, was professor.

These are no doubt considered rarities from the brother of Henri Herz.........I have no idea how many works Jacques composed but here are four of his creations:

Heinrich von Herzogenberg (1843-1900). German pianist and composer. Studied with Dessoff at the Vienna Conservatoire, then lived in Graz; in 1872 he moved to Leipzig where he founded, with Spitta, Holstein and Volkland, and became the principal conductor of the Bach Verein (1874-85). Became professor of composition at the Hochschule fur Musik in Berlin (1885-88); and director of the "Meisterschule" from 1889-92 and 1897-1900. He was a prolific composer, his main influneces being Brahms and Bruch. Works include oratorios, a cantata, psalms and motets, two symphonies, symphonic poem "Odysseus", chamber music, string sonatas, piano and organ music.
