See my posting from Sat Mar 13, 2010:
„Sergei BORTKIEWICZ
Lamentations et Consolations op. 17
Mod note: owing to guidance from fellow members I have removed this work as still in copyright in Europe [and the publisher has raised issue on this with other sites]. Malcolm“

Jim, many thanks for your reworked and cropped Bortkiewicz scores.Jim Faston wrote:This is a minor reworking of the currently circulating file of Bortkiewicz' 7 Préludes, Op40. I went to print off a copy this morning and it just wasn't cooperating, so I took fifteen minutes to crop, straighten and recontrast the pages.
I, too am a big fan of the music of Blumenfeld and Bortkiewicz.

Jim, thanks for the reworked Preludes--they are now so much easier to use on my monitor. A true delight is getting the Lamentations, Op.17, I missed it in 2010--these are powerful pieces.
It's been a great day in Bortkiewicz-land here today.

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Copyright Query: regards Borkiewicz.......Alfor is right to point out that much of his music is still within copyright and also in print [although this is primarily for EU countries.......2012 saw the 60th anniversry of the composer's death and hence scores no longer covered in the USA]. Nonetheless somewhat odd that nearly all of his scores are available for download on IMSLP !!!!!
However, I would prefer we keep any future Bortkiewicz low on the radar, as back in 2010 I did receive a complaint from Kistner who own the Lamentations score [so please do not post anything that is currently available in print]. The violin sonata and songs I've posted, are to my knowledge, definitely not in print and readily available.
Jim - suggest leave the score for a few days then please remove. Thanks Alfor for reminding me.
Many thanks
Malcolm

Relative, thanks for your most interesting postings. The Dovženko I find especially well written.
