There's a set of parts at the Central Music Library, Victoria Library, Westminster City Council

Thanks Rob. I'll keep that in mind, although my preference is for
the full score rather than the individual parts.
It's a work which seems to be widely recorded, but one where the
score itself is curiously under the radar of the entire net.

Here's another odd item. This composer is from the North Caucasus republic of North Ossetia (today part of the Russian federation). His biographical details are outlined in the following article:

The score indicates that this is the central movement of a larger quartet. To my knowledge, this is the only music by this composer that was published outside of his immediate region.

Here's two sets of short pieces on Uzbek folk themes. We've seen some of Giyenko's work on both this thread and the cello/piano thread. He was a Tashkent-based composer who wrote many pieces based on Uzbek themes and went on to teach younger composers such as Yunis Mamedov (see previous post ).

Sher (1900-1962) was a Russian-Jewish violinist and composer, one of the last pupils of Leopold Auer, a violinist credited with establishing the Russian school of violin-playing in the 19th century. Sher himself was a renowned teacher, his many pupils including Vladimir Spivakov. As a composer, he wrote a wide range of chamber music, some concertos, and a large series of virtuoso etudes for violin. The Russian Composers page for him lists a set of 24 piano preludes, a piano quintet, and three string quartets:
