Dannen, Thank you so much for this piece. It was a while since you posted it, I know, but I have just been playing it, and it is delightful.

Thank you for your transcription.

You are very welcome! After consulting with Rene Ramos, whose performance I transcribed, I made a few corrections, and the emended score is attached here.

In the near future, I plan to transcribe two other well-known boleros, "La Barca" and "Besame Mucho." I will post those transcriptions when they're completed.

Thanks Dannen for your transcriptions.
I read that you are going to transcribe Besame mucho. I don't know which version you are going to transcribe.
I made a transcription/arrangement with the version of Andrea Bocelli. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQXWaiENNKw&feature=fvst
I post it here if can be useful for you.
Here is the link to listen to the piano performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL9KnNaXLec

Some Pianophilia member asked me –some time ago- about the Mexican composer José López Alavez and his Oaxacan Piano Suite, great composition!
He is also the composer of "Canción Mixteca" that is like an anthem in Oaxaca.
Now I have some information to share; please contact me.

I am looking for Juventino R osas’ piano scores. Unfortunately in Mexico are very difficult to get, there are many beautiful melodies, besides his famous waltz “ Sobre las Olas” -Over the Waves- posted here.

Thanks.

Many Thanks for Ponce's scores, specially "Duerme". The editor closed a long time ago.

Ilu, Duerme was one of those oversized pieces of sheet music that reminded me of the stuff my Grandmother had in her attic. The paper was getting crumbly but the librarian let me copy it before he sent it to the book hospital to be rebound.

Here's Ponce's Preludias y Fuga sobre un tema de JS Bach. Hope it hasn't already been posted.
