My copy says "Eight British Song Transcriptions"; I guess referring to the transcriber as British and not necessarily the composers.

In that case, shouldn't the title be 'Eight British/Australian Song Transcriptions'?

Btw, Presto Classical is a brilliant shop. It's in Leamington Spa, not far from me.

Because Pp has been dormant for several days, I thought that
it might be an idea to contribute something to wake it up.

This was at the top of the pile of music on my piano today,
so here it is, a charming Rondo by S. Poole. The score is
dated 1834, so at a cost of 2 shillings, it was quite expensive
for the time.

Frederic Cliffe (1857-1931): “Coronation March” composed for the Coronation Ceremony of King George V, transcribed for piano by the composer from his orchestral version played. The ceremony took place on June 22, 1911 -nms-

Thank you! Nice to have the rare first edition. This piece is also included in a recent compilation of piano works by Bliss.
Copyright is with Novello now and I dare say that they won't be pleased with this posting...

Young Arthur was a fine pianist and lived in the U.S. for two years.
His Piano Concerto (composed in 1938) was dedicated to the people of the United States. In his program notes Bliss wrote "It was to be played by Solomon and dedicated to the people of the U.S. so obviously it had to be a concerto in the grand manner and what is loosely called 'romantic'. Surely the Americans are at heart the most romantic in the world".

As its an old printing, I am happy for it to remain, but Alfor is correct as currently in print from Novello, in a collection of piano works. And of course Bliss only died in 1975.

While we were at Sir Arthur Bliss....... just curious, was his Piano Concerto, Piano Concerto for TWO pianos, and also his sonata ever exist in scan form??
