BTW their policy of blocking is the most confused without any discernible rules!!!

As libraries around the world are gradually making more and more of
their music freely available to download, I'm beginning to wonder if the
days of the private scanner/uploader of library scores are numbered.

Thanks for your kind comments, and of course for reading through my thoughts on the Arnold Mendelssohn score! You bring up a very important point, i.e. should we consider our ultimate goal to be the complete aquisition of works of every interesting composer, or should we instead be evaluating the relative musical importance of a work prior to posting. I think the latter is the more rational choice, and for that I always appreciate your screening the material and posting the very best efforts of each composer. However, being a "complete-ist" by nature I still long to collect and play as many works as possible. In my case, not being within reasonable distance of a major library, exploring a composer in depth generally means ordering as many scores from international libraries as I can locate. An expensive proposition in each case, but this being my principle hobby I find the satisfaction of obtaining rarities worth every penny. So to discover new gems I personally need to proceed in the musicolgist's direction and take the good with the bad. But were I closer to a major library, certainly I would be pre-screening the works prior to posting (as you do for us) because that exposes the world to a much broader range of composers than would be possible otherwise. In other words, I think your methodolgy of posting the "best of the best" is absolutely ideal, (imho!)

The scores are not actually blocked but you have to downlaod a different viewing system to be able to access them [they do link through to the system if you wish to download].

I do have a lot of Cui [vast majority of his works].......but yet to be scanned. Fell free to start Alfor, and I can look to fill any gaps.
