Fresh from my own scanner:

Vissarion Y. SHEBALIN
Sonata op. 10
similar in style to his Sonatinas op. 12. Post-Prokofiev with (imho) a (too) strong intellectual element.

The date 1963 is confusing -- but is probably the date of some kind of revision work. It's dedicatee - Zhilyayev - had of course been murdered by the state many years before. I think it was written in the late 20s.

Thanks for all your recent postings. I really like this Shebalin Sonata. I do not know if it is fresh from your scanner or not, but it's no so fresh on pianophilia, and it's been uploaded by you, although I thank you anyway because this version it's so much more printer friendly than this other one:

Hi Alfor,

I would ask if you have some of these scores of D.M. Melkikh
-Op.5 Five Preludes
-Op.9 Chorale & Fugue
-Op.9a Paroles Danses - Three pieces
-Op.14 Mimic Scene
-Op.20 Gems - Suite of five pieces
-Op.21 Piano Sonata n.4

I have only the sonata n.1,2,3

Many thanks.

The Shebalin is indeed a new (better quality) scan; nonetheless I have to admit that I forgot that I had already posted this work.

Now here are the 2 interesting sonatas by

Nicolas NABOKOFF (cousin of the famous writer Vladimir)
Sonata No. 1 (a good scan by the RSL)
Nabokoff Sonate.pdf
Sonata No. 2 (a genuine alfor scan, which had been posted previously, but has not found its way into the pianophilia archive) http://www.mediafire.com/?gmmtgenyqmm

You are correct: the sonata was composed in 1926/27 and revised in 1963.
