Here's a link to a small pile of piano pieces from Kazakhstan. Some of the scans are pretty poor, but might be the only way to access pieces by most of these composers (Zhubanova, etc...):

http://astana-app.kz/app_dev.php/en/notes
(there are two pages of works, arranged in order of difficulty)

Here's a sizable set of preludes from a fairly busy piano composer who studied at the Tashkent Conservatory under Gliere and went on the work for the state publishing house. Biographical details are available at:

http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... LhCkdvSaaw

Alfor has previously posted a collection containing his Scherzo-Impromptu. A piece entitled Poem is included in volume 7 of the 'Concert Pieces by Soviet Composers' series from the 1970s, along with works by Prokofiev, Kabalevsky, Yury Alexandrov, Frid, Mynov, and Vitachek. This volume has not yet been shared here. It is stored in the following libraries:

There is also a volume of concert etudes (op. 21, 46 pg.) from 1981.

Nikolai Nikolayovich POLYNSKY (Uzbekistan)
Preludes (33), for piano, op. 10 (1974-76) in two books
Polynsky - Preludes (33), for piano (1974-76), book 1.pdf
Polynsky - Preludes (33), for piano (1974-76), book 2.pdf

Dear caostotale - Thank you for the beautiful Polynysky preludes. These are not terribly difficult and fall nicely under the fingers.

It looks like good things come in sets of 33 as well...

Here's another collection of teaching pieces. Many, many volumes of these were published in the USSR, oftentimes focusing on the prominent composers from this or that nationality (Buryat, Bashkir, Turkmen, Yakut are amongst the ones I've seen) or one region of the Soviet territory, as is the case here. For the ambitious amongst us, there is a detailed biographical section at the beginning:

Pieces by Uralic Composers, for piano (Young Pianist's Library) (1992)

Irina Vasilyevna ARSEEVA - Pieces (3) from the suite 'Little Kitten Songs'; 1. Kitten Song, 2. Kitten and Annoying Mouse, 3. Restless Kitten (Bas'kiny = small kitten)
Margarita Aleksandrovna KESAREVA - Pieces (2) from 'Pieces for Young People'; 1. Mongolian Song, 2. Cheerful Etude
Maksim Andreyevich BASOK - Piece from the Tale '1001 Nights'
Maksim Andreyevich BASOK - Robot
Leonid Iosifovich GUREVICH - Bagatelles (5)
Igor Vladislavovich ZABEGIN - Pieces (3) from the suite 'Grandma's Toys'; 1. Vyatka Shepherd, 2. Regimental Bandmaster, 3. Neapolitan Bandit
Vladimir Aleksandrovich KOBEKIN - Pieces (3) from the suite 'Scenes in the Aden Woods'; 1. Wounded Deer, 2. Game, 3. Bagpipe
Oleg Yakovlevich NIRENBURG - Pieces (2) based on old Uralic tunes; 1. Mosquito loves to Fly (Little Prelude & Fugue), 2. I'll Go and Get Out of the Gate (Simple two-part counterpoint)
Nikolai Mikhailovich PUZEY (PUZEI) - Children's Games
Nikolai Mikhailovich PUZEY (PUZEI) - Little Waltz
Sergey Ivanovich SIROTIN - Pieces (3); 1. Squash (racket-ball game), 2. Dreams are Coming, 3. March
Gerald Nikolayevich TOPORKOV - Preludes (2) from the cycle '24 Preludes'
Vladislav Georgyevich TRAPEZNIKOV - Scherzo
Aleksandr Grigoryevich FRIDLENDER (FRIEDLANDER?) - Rooster, Hen, and Chicks
Aleksandr Grigoryevich FRIDLENDER (FRIEDLANDER?) - Drove Through the Streets of the Elephant
Markian Petrovich FROLOV - Preludes (2)

Thanks a lot for all these rarities, caostotale. I liked the 33 Preludes in particular. Great!

Best regards.
